Companies need to constantly watch their consumers closely to catch the emergence of the latest trends, says Ravi Thakran, the group chairman overseeing South and Southeast Asia, Australia and the Middle East for LVMH. He pointed to the example of women hanging charms on their handbag, a trend that started in Asia but has since influenced the industry globally.
